Sheffield experts tie up four deals in three weeks

Two of Sheffield’s oldest companies have featured in a remarkable run of four deals in three weeks for one of South Yorkshire’s leading specialists.

Sheffield-based Strategic Corporate Finance, which boasts the largest team of dedicated dealmakers in South Yorkshire and is one of the biggest corporate finance enterprises in the North of England, tied up the deals at the height of summer when, traditionally, corporate transactions are normally slower.

Director Kevan Shaw said: “The fact that we adopt a pro-active approach to deal making, and the strength and experience of our team, were instrumental in helping us to complete so many transactions in such a short space of time.”

Turton Springs Ltd., of Sheffield, founded in 1879 and suppliers of the first coiled springs to the railways at the turn of the 20th century, have acquired one of their suppliers, Locum Fine Steels, also of Sheffield and, in another deal, Hodkin and Jones, who have been producing architectural mouldings since 1868, have sold their Decathlon drainage system division to brand leaders Marshalls of Elland, West Yorkshire.

Hodkin and Jones’s superb craftsmanship adorns stately homes and prestige buildings such as the Royal Armouries in Leeds, Arsenal’s new football stadium and Cardiff Opera House.

Strategic Corporate Finance also brokered a deal for Link Telecom Holdings who have taken over ETC Communications Ltd, of Surrey and achieved a bigger proportion of the mobile phone market.

Link is a Yorkshire company with 18 years’ experience in finding the ideal telecommunications solutions for its customers.

Strategic’s fourth deal involved a management buy-out at Industrial Personnel Co Ltd., of Rotherham.

The recruitment specialists have placed thousands of people in permanent and temporary work since their inception in 1995.
